Dreams are the language of the soul, a mirror reflecting our inner world back to us.
Conscious dreamwork with Dr. Kimberly Mascaro goes well beyond dream dictionaries or simple interpretation. Together, you'll step into what she calls the Imaginal Realm, working with nocturnal dreams, waking dream states (hypnosis, trance, vision), and the everyday waking state as connected parts of one journey.
Dr. Mascaro brings rare depth to this work: she's the author of three books on dreams — Dreaming with the Earth-Mind (2025), Dream Medicine (2021), and Extraordinary Dreams (2018) — and serves on the Board of Directors for the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), where she also chairs the Ethics Committee. Her research and teaching on dreams have been shared internationally.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Interpretation looks for meaning after the fact. Dreamwork goes further: building your capacity to become more aware inside dream states themselves, including lucid dreaming, and using that awareness for growth, creativity, and healing.
-
Not always. Some approaches work with hypnagogic imagery, trance, and waking imagination even without dream recall. But if you'd like to remember more dreams, that's also something we work on. It's a learnable skill.
-
Yes, and it's one of the most powerful applications. Grief dreams, especially visitation dreams (dreams of a deceased loved one that feel distinctly real), can be an important part of the mourning process. Dr. Mascaro has specific training and research in this area.
-
A visitation dream is a dream in which a deceased person appears in a way that feels distinctly real, loving, or communicative — qualitatively different from ordinary dreams about the same person. Research suggests they can be deeply meaningful for bereavement. Dr. Mascaro has published work specifically on this topic.
-
Dream interpretation typically means assigning symbolic meaning to elements. Dreamwork goes further; it uses the dream as living material to be re-entered, embodied, and dialogued with. It's less about decoding and more about allowing the dream to continue working on you.
-
Yes. Trauma often appears in dreams: as nightmares, as recurring scenarios, or as symbolic re-enactment. Working with these clinically and carefully can be an important adjunct to trauma treatment, particularly for complex trauma that has been resistant to talk therapy alone.
-
Lucid dreaming is the state of knowing you are dreaming while the dream is occurring. Therapeutically, lucidity can be used to reduce nightmare frequency, practice emotional regulation, explore the subconscious safely, and access spiritual experiences. Dr. Mascaro has both research and personal practice in this area.
