Dr. Kimberly R. Mascaro, PhD, LMFT
Somatic Psychotherapist · Dreamwork Specialist · Author · Educator
I've spent over 20 years in the field of mental health as a clinician, an educator, a researcher, and a writer. But the most important thing I've learned hasn't come from a classroom or a textbook.
It came from living through a few things that nearly broke me: complicated grief, a seven-year cancer journey, betrayal, and the kind of loss that doesn't resolve on a therapist's timeline.
Those experiences changed what I look for in a healing process and they're why my practice looks the way it does: body-informed, dream-conscious, and oriented toward the soul.
Who I Work Best With
My clients are usually women who are tired of surface-level support.
You're navigating grief or loss and it's more complicated than people around you seem to understand
You're living with chronic illness and trying to find wholeness inside a body that has surprised you
You're at a major life crossroads — career, identity, relationship — and "just talk it out" hasn't been enough
You have ADHD and want support that honors how your brain actually works
You're spiritually curious, drawn to the inner life, and looking for a therapist who can meet you there
You've had powerful dreams, or want to start paying attention to them, and you want a trained guide
My Approach
I work somatically, which means the body is part of the conversation, not an afterthought. I blend traditional evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT) with art therapy, dreamwork, hypnotherapy, breathwork, and yoga nidra, based on what serves you and what you're ready for.
I describe my style as warm, relational, and holistic. I'm not here to pathologize your experience. I'm here to help you understand it and move through it.
